Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Resume Builder is a web application that helps you create, edit, and export professional resumes with AI-assisted content generation, ATS scoring, and multiple template designs. The Service is operated by JobGuarder. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and JobGuarder.

2. Acceptance of terms

By signing up, logging in, or otherwise accessing any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. One person may hold only one personal account.

4. Acceptable use

When you use the Service, you agree not to:

• Upload or generate content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to access, index, or copy the Service.
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or circumvent rate limits, quotas, or paywalls.
• Impersonate another person, or provide false information in your account or resumes.

5. AI features

The Service uses third-party large-language-model (LLM) providers to generate AI rewrites, suggestions, and reviews. When you invoke an AI feature, the specific text you are rewriting is transmitted to the provider's API.

We do not train models on your data, and we instruct providers not to use submitted content for training where that option is available. Provider data handling is governed by the provider's own policy. AI output may be inaccurate — always review before using it.

6. Exports and data

You retain ownership of the resume content you create on the Service. We store your content so we can provide the Service to you — rendering, exporting, and powering AI features. You may export your resumes at any time as PDF, DOCX, or plain text, and you may delete your account and all associated content through your account settings.

7. Subscription and billing

The Service offers a free plan with usage limits and paid plans with expanded quotas. Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancelling a paid plan takes effect at the end of the current billing period; except where required by law, we do not offer pro-rata refunds.

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will make a reasonable effort to provide notice of material changes that affect paid subscribers.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JobGuarder is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost job opportunities, lost revenue, or data loss — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where JobGuarder is established. [Jurisdiction to be finalised before public launch.]

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify registered users by email. Continuing to use the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
